I wanted to stay with First Chkice as I had always had good custkmer service and good prices. What a package. On the day I choose a new plan, I told the rep I would have lots of questions about a plan he proposed. I looked at the plan online as we spoke, I asked the many questions, and then I bought the plan. So far I am satisfied with price I pay. I use as little electricity as possible due to financial hardship--May it be temporary--and I have still been able to afford the necessities of life. Thank you First Choice for having low-cost plans.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible sign up process! I switched from TXU to First Choice Power. My sister referred me so was excited to get a $25.00 credit on my bill. I tried signing up online and was given an account number. An error message came up and was given a phone number to call to fix it. Long story short, I signed up with someone over the phone and apparently I was given a different account number. The person that took my information put my email address in wrong. I told them I want a paper copy to be mailed to me for my bill. They didn't listen and signed me up for everything electronically. Needless to say, I never received my first bill. A little over a month goes by and I realized I didn't get a bill so I call them. They have two accounts for me and could not figure out which account was correct. I had to give them all information and explain everything over and over. Then I was told I wouldn't get that $25 credit and neither would my sister because my account was already passed due. I tried explaining that I never received the bill because the person took my email incorrectly. I was even charged a late fee. This is the worst company ever. I should have stayed with TXU.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome service and upgrades I started the Pre-paid plan, I had just found a place to live and this one helped me a lot. At the time I couldnt afford the deposits from traditional plan coupled with the free weekends really helped me settle in my new home. After using fisrt choice for a while I was surprised with a call for free upgrades to a more traditional account with no deposit for being a loyal customer and not missing payments. Not only did my rate decrease from 0.156 cents to 0.12 cents per kilowatt hour but I also got to keep my free weekends with a additional day including Friday. This has been a very nice experience I recomend this for anyone who can't decide who to do busniess with.

Spk with CSR who changed the rate to current, $.078/KWH.....HE did not explain this would have an affect on my free weekends. I spk with Ade in Cust Svc-advsd me that the program with free weekends has been eliminated. Rqstd a Mgr-rcvd call from manager who confirmed, "There is nothing I can do. The plan has been eliminated." When I rqstd the CEO's name to file a formal complaint, she simply replied, "I am not allowed to give out this information." REALLY??!! BEWARE......

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Very Impressive Plan I purchased this plan from 1st choice power in the middle of October of this year, and so far I'm not impressed with this rate plan. Main reason cause of the referral bonus for my daughter and for my husband and I. 50 dollar bonus, but haven't received anything. I live in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom very small apartment little over 600 square ft and do not run a lot of electricity being it's just me and my husband, and so far our bill looks like it's gonna be over a 100 and some odd dollars a month. My last electric company their rates were alittle better and we paid under a $100 a month for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment 900 sq ft and we ran the electricity quite a bit with 2 sons living with us at that time. My husband and I thought great!! both sons moved out, we moved in to a small 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment And we don't run electricity hardly at all since we work. So we figured great!! Our electric bill will be so much smaller than before, but now it's actually higher for a smaller sq footage and low wattage usage!!! We are so disappointed. Not impressed at all. This is my honest opinion, take it for what it's worth. I wished I had gone with 4Change Energy or Cirro, regret it now.
