Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Very Impressive Plan I purchased this plan from 1st choice power in the middle of October of this year, and so far I'm not impressed with this rate plan. Main reason cause of the referral bonus for my daughter and for my husband and I. 50 dollar bonus, but haven't received anything. I live in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom very small apartment little over 600 square ft and do not run a lot of electricity being it's just me and my husband, and so far our bill looks like it's gonna be over a 100 and some odd dollars a month. My last electric company their rates were alittle better and we paid under a $100 a month for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment 900 sq ft and we ran the electricity quite a bit with 2 sons living with us at that time. My husband and I thought great!! both sons moved out, we moved in to a small 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment And we don't run electricity hardly at all since we work. So we figured great!! Our electric bill will be so much smaller than before, but now it's actually higher for a smaller sq footage and low wattage usage!!! We are so disappointed. Not impressed at all. This is my honest opinion, take it for what it's worth. I wished I had gone with 4Change Energy or Cirro, regret it now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great plan, great rates! Purchased this plan in september, the weekly updates may scare you and make you think your bill will be outrageous but they are point and case readings and my bill has been very affordable each month!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good experience I purchased this plan a couple of months ago and so far its been great. The simplicity of working with First Choice Power is absolutely mind-blowing. In a world that is always busy busy busy, its nice to find at least one uncomplicated thing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm not convinced about this plan! I switched from the prepaid plan a little over a month ago and I can't see a savings. Also I referred a friend, Cynthia Parks ( don't have her account #) so I'm due a referral fee towards my bill.

Questions & Answers

Is there a base charge and if I owe on an old Direct Energy regular account will it be an issue

Asked by: DebM
Hi, Deb. Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the delay in response. When enrolling you would need to have a $0 balance on any previous accounts across our brands. Additionally, there is a base charge for service. The details of that, and any additional charges, can be found by going to the EFL link for the rate you are interested in. Please feel free to reach out to us via email at dedigitalcare@directenergy.com should you have more questions. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Does the You Got This 12 plan kWh rate I am quoted here INCLUDE the Oncor Delivery Charges? Or are they in ADDITION to the quoted per kWh rate?

That's a great question! The advertised rate is an average that includes both the energy and delivery charges. You can click the EFL link for the plan to view a breakdown of the rate. It will also show you the average rate based on 500, 1,000, and 2,000 kWh monthly usage.

What plan has the lowest oncor delivery charges and base charges?

Asked by: Highcharge
Hi! Thank you for the question. Our apologies for the delay in response. The delivery charges are the same no matter the rate plan. The only thing that affects those charges is your specific utility (TDU) and your zip code. The base charges is also fixed no matter the rate plan. Loved the question! Please let us know if you have others. You may always reach us here or via email at dedigitalcare@directenergy.com! Thanks, - Henry, FCP Digital Customer Care

How long after I pay my bill does the electricity come back on?

Asked by: Lory
Hi Lory! Great question. If your power has been disconnected and you submit a payment, it should be 2-4 hours until power is restored. If the outage is maintenance-related, then you'll want to directly contact your utility for further assistance. If you have any other questions or concerns you may ask them or or email us at dedigitalcare@directenergy.com! Thanks, - Henry, FCP Digital Customer Care

I am moving to Aransas Pass ,Texas. How does a PRE-PAID ELECTRIC plan work ?

Asked by: SNOOKJON
Thanks for your question! It's $10 to start service on any of our pre-paid rates. As long as your account balance is positive, your residence has power. We receive usage readings daily and you will receive correspondence daily about your balance. You'll want to make payments as often as needed to keep your account positive. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

I'm thinking of signing up for the "You Got This 12" plan for 8.9 cents per kw/hr. Is this a fixed rate for 12 months? Can it change within the 12 months? So I have to use autopay or can I just pay by check each month?

Asked by: Paul
Hi Paul! Thank you for reaching out! I would recommend reviewing our "You Got This 12" Plan page! Here is the link : https://www.firstchoicepower.com/texas/electricity-plans/fixed-rate-electricity-12 ! The website goes into further details the different components of the plan! Please feel free to reach out with any additional concerns or questions! - Warm Wishes, Samantha
