  • Who do I call when I have a power outage?

    If you experience a power outage at your home or business that it not related to payment of your electricity bill, please call the utility company for your area (also called the Transmission and Distribution Service provider, or TDSP or TDU). This is the company that maintain the lines, poles, and meters that deliver electricity to your home.

    If you are not sure which TDSP serves your area, your can find this information by looking at the YOUR USAGE section on the back of your First Choice Power bill.

    • How can I have my power reconnected?

      If your power is disconnected because you haven't paid your bill, just pay your past-due balance in full to be reconnected. You can pay online in your First Choice Power MyAccount or by calling Customer Service at 1-855-534-3881.

      If your power is disconnected because of an actual power outages in your area, please the Transmission & Distribution Service Provider (TDSP, also known as the utility company) to report the outage.

      If you an old analog meter, it can take 24-48 hours for your power to be reconnected, depending upon the workload of the TDSP technicians. If you have a new Smart Meter, it can take only a few hours for your power to be reconnected, but it still does depend upon the workload of the TDSP technicians.

      In either case, please call the TDSP for your area to learn more about when your power will be reconnected.

      • How do I report a power outage?

        To report a power outage in your area that is not caused by a late payment of your past-due bill, please call the local utility company for your area.

        • Why is my power disconnected?

          There are two basic reasons your power is disconnected:

          1. You haven't paid your past-due balance to First Choice Power. If you still didn't pay your balance 10 days after your bill due date, we sent a Disconnection Order for your service address
          2. There is a temporary power outage in your area because of problems with the electricity grid

          If you're disconnected because you haven't paid your bill, we mailed you a pink Disconnection Notice to your billing address the day after your bill due date. That notice describes the balance you need to pay and tells you about a scheduled date for Disconnection. You need to pay this past-due balance in full before we can send the Reconnect order. if you need a Payment Arrangement for this balance, please First Choice Power Customer Service at 1-855-534-3881.

          If you're disconnected because of a temporary power outage in your area, please call the utility company for your area. They will be able to give you a reason for the outage as well as the estimated time you'll get power back.
