How To Read Your Bill

 

Residential Bill

1. ESI ID

This is the unique electric service identifier number assigned to each point of delivery for electricity.

2. PUBLIC UTILITY GROSS RECEIPTS ASSESSMENT REIMBURSEMENT

This is a tax imposed on utility companies in Texas that make local sales of electricity within an incorporated city or town having a population greater than 1,000. In accordance with PUCT billing guidelines, this tax is separately stated on utility bills as a reimbursement charge.

3. METER READING DATE

This is the date on which the transmission and distribution service provider reads your meter.

4. DUE DATE

The date your payment is to arrive at First Choice Power in order to avoid a late charge.

5. FIRST CHOICE POWER ENERGY CHARGE

This is the monthly cost for the energy used during the billing period.

6. ELECTRIC SERVICE AVERAGE KWH PRICE

This price is computed by dividing the total bill, excluding taxes and nonrecurring charges or credits, by the total monthly kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electric usage. A kWh is the basic unit of measurement of electric energy for which a customer is billed.

7. YOUR ELECTRICITY USAGE

The usage graph shows as many as 12 months of past electricity history.

8. KWH USED

Amount of electricity used during the current billing period.

9. AMOUNT DUE

Total amount that is due to First Choice Power.

10. ACCOUNT NUMBER

A unique number assigned to your account.

11. CARE TO SHARE

This customer-funded bill payment assistance program helps pay electric bills for qualifying residential customers experiencing temporary hardship. You can make a donation to this fund each month by checking the box on the remittance form and including the amount with your payment. It is tax deductible.
