First Choice Power Sponsors Recycling at Manna Fields Farm

Partnership will teach importance of recycling, provide recycling boxes for all classes who visit

(ANGLETON, TEXAS) – First Choice Power is sponsoring the 2007 First Choice Power Recycling Booth at Manna Fields Farm to educate Brazoria County-area teachers and students about the importance of recycling. First Choice Power also is providing each class that visits the farm with free recycling boxes to use in the classroom.

“Manna Fields Farm is a family favorite this time of year, and First Choice Power is proud to partner with Manna Fields Farm to teach the importance of recycling and protecting our environment,” said Gary Patterson, First Choice Power’s dedicated customer account manager for the Angleton area.

Every year about 50 different classes with 25 to 30 students each visit the farm. This year in addition to the other curriculum, classes will learn facts about recycling and how they can make a difference in their home, classroom and community.

“Manna Fields Farm has always actively supported environmentally friendly activities. By partnering with First Choice Power, this year we will truly make an impact on the environment,” said Cindy Davis owner of Manna Fields Farm. “At Manna Fields Farm we are educating children on different aspects of farming and being good stewards of our environment.”

Manna Fields Farm is open from Sept. 28 to Nov. 20, Fridays 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $8 for kids ages 3 to 11; $10 for adults and kids ages 12 and older; free for ages 2 and younger; and $8 for seniors 65 and older.

First Choice Power customers who bring a copy of their bill to Manna Fields Farm will receive a $2-per-person discount off the cost of admission.

First Choice Power’s Simply Better Recycling Program includes free recycling boxes for community events, schools and festivals.
