(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) – The nonprofit First Choice Power Fund awarded $50,000 in grants to 10 nonprofits across the state benefiting youth, seniors and other Texans through educational advancement, environmental awareness and economic vitality programs. Each nonprofit received a $5,000 First Choice Power Partnership Grant.
"It’s programs like these that continue to improve the communities where we live and serve," said Diane Harrison Ogawa, executive director of the First Choice Power Fund. "The First Choice Power Fund is proud to partner with these nonprofits that are committed to helping those in our state who need it the most."
The First Choice Power Fund is a nonprofit division of the PNM Resources Foundation, which seeks to improve the quality of life in Texas communities where First Choice Power serves. Applications for the annual nonprofit grants were due in June, and 39 Texas nonprofits applied.
