First Choice Power, LULAC Partner To Provide Energy Education

Summer Energy Conservation Seminars Planned Across Texas

(FORT WORTH, TEXAS) – As the Texas summer heat sets in, First Choice Power and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) are joining forces to educate consumers on saving energy and staying cool through an insightful seminar series that will reach consumers in local LULAC councils, community centers and social forums across the state.

League of United Latin American Citizens"This program is a great opportunity for our Texas LULAC Councils,” said Hector Flores, LULAC’s immediate past national president. “It is a win-win partnership, as First Choice Power will assist LULAC members in saving money and at the same time partner with our local councils in communities across Texas.”

The First Choice Power & LULAC Energy Education Series is part of First Choice Power’s initiative to provide energy education and access to underserved Texans and communities at large. The partnership will provide timely energy-savings tips and information throughout the summer and beyond.

First Choice Power and LULAC will officially announce the partnership Saturday, Aug. 4, during the kickoff energy seminar. After the presentation, Flores will switch his electric service to First Choice Power.

First Choice Power will initially host six free, community-based energy education seminars with LULAC chapters throughout Texas. This is one more way First Choice Power is committed to providing Simply Better prices, programs and customer care to Hispanic communities and its customers.

“When temperatures rise, energy usage also increases,” said Jeffrey Weiser, president of First Choice Power. “We want to share information that will empower our community partners and customers to stay comfortable, while helping them save money at the same time.”

This summer, First Choice Power will share energy-savings tips, provide energy management guides and donate compact fluorescent light bulbs to all participants at these energy seminars. First Choice Power presently has one of the most competitive fixed price plans in many areas across Texas.
