First Choice Power Community Reduce Your Use Grants

Fannin County Food Pantry

The Fannin County Food Pantry mission is to reduce hunger by providing, no-cost, emergency food for income and residency qualified citizens of Fannin County.

The nonprofit is making several energy-efficient upgrades that the First Choice Power grant will help purchase two large energy-efficient food freezers, an energy-efficient cooling system for the food storage room, solar reflectors and window insulation.

“Demand for food is growing,” Tillman Boyd of Fannin County Food Pantry said. “ The First Choice Power Reduce Your Use Grant will help purchase energy-efficiency products that will save us money and free our money to better serve the community.”

Fannin County Food Pantry provided meals for 260 families in the first week of September.
