Brownwood Beautification CommissionKeep Brownwood Beautiful will use its grant to purchase a new energy-efficient washer and dryer."To maintain a healthy environment, it is imperative to have a clean center," said Cary Perrin of Keep Brownwood Beautiful. "With the commitment in making the lives of unwanted animals better, each day there is a mountain of laundry that must be washed and dried. This includes blankets and beds for the cats and dogs, towels for grooming, and cleaning. The washer and drier are constantly running throughout each day. There have been many occasions when the laundry was so great that board members spent hours and hundreds of dollars at a coin operated facility to catch up on the laundry." Members of the Keep Brownwood Beautiful and Corinne T. Smith Animal Center boards were at the center Monday to accept a ‘Reduce Your Use’ grant check from First Choice Power.
