Meridian Manor Retirement and Nursing Center in Meridian

Congratulations to the Meridian Manor Retirement and Nursing Center, a 2008 First Choice Power Reduce Your UseTM Grant recipient. The nursing center will use the grant to upgrade its lighting to more energy-efficient bulbs and fixtures.

As a retirement and nursing center, Meridian Manor has hallway lights on 24 hours a day for nurses and residents to make their way around the facility.

Todd Clift of First Choice Power recommended to Beth Stuart, administrator of Meridian Manor, that she should apply for a First Choice Power Reduce Your Use Grant to begin to replace the current lamp fixtures with energy-efficient compact lights.

“The payback will be less than a year,” Clift noted. “It also will help with the air conditioning as these older lamp fixtures generate a lot of heat. The energy-efficient lights generate less heat. They also last a lot longer.”
