First Choice Power Volunteer Grants
First Choice Power Volunteer Grants turns First Choice Power employees’ and retirees’ volunteer hours into cash. Through First Choice Power Volunteer Grants, a company employee or retiree can request a contribution of as much as $500 a year on behalf of a Texas nonprofit with which he or she volunteers.
Program guidelines: To receive a First Choice Power Volunteer Grant, you must:
- Be a full-time or part-time First Choice Power employee or retiree
- Volunteer on your own time, outside of work hours, to a qualifying 501(c) 3 organization in Texas (you must not receive pay or any other form of compensation from the nonprofit organization for your service
- Contribute a minimum of 12 hours of service for a $100 donation, 25 hours for a $200 donation, or serve on a board of directors and volunteer a minimum of 25 hours to request a $500 donation.
The nonprofit organization you are assisting must:
- Be a qualifying 501(c) 3 organization in Texas
- Verify the number of hours volunteered
- Provide information on the organization
Employees and retirees may request only one First Choice Power Volunteer Grant of either $100, $200 or $500 in each calendar year.
