What is LinkShare, and why do I have to register with them in order to participate in the program?
LinkShare is a partner and Affiliate Service Provider for First Choice Power. LinkShare allows affiliates like yourself to easily grab links that can be used on your site to drive traffic to www.FirstChoicePower.com. And LinkShare’s reporting tool will empower you to track all of your site’s activity and referral bonuses.
I just signed up for the program - when can I post links and start earning?
Almost right away. Once you have been accepted into the LinkShare program, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from LinkShare. Then follow these steps to pick up your First Choice Power offers and creative links for your site:
- Go to www.linkshare.com and log in
- Under the Affiliate Network tab, locate the Programs section and click on My Advertisers
- Click on View Links and select from any of our Banners and Text Links
- "Get Links" will generate your unique tracking code. Simply copy and paste the code on to your site to create the links, and you’ll earn a referral bonus of $50 for every customer who joins the First Choice Power family! Tracking will begin immediately. Reporting updates occur daily for the previous day’s activity.
What do I do if the banners or links are not working after I have posted them to my site?
If you have successfully tested your links, and they are not working, please e-mail FirstChoicePower@linkshare.com.
How often will I get paid?
All payments for qualified sign-ups will occur within 30 days of the referred customer’s enrollment date.
How often will new promotions and banners be available?
You’ll be the first to know. First Choice Power is committed to offering customers competitive pricing. Occasionally, our team will offer special promotions during peak seasons that you may utilize on your website. You will receive an e-mail communication from First Choice Power or LinkShare anytime we have new promotions or banners.

How do I know if people are clicking and enrolling?
Be sure to test that your links are tracking correctly by clicking on the links you’ve posted on your site. You can log on to your account at www.linkshare.com to see if those clicks are tracking. Please allow for approximately one hour before any click-through, or visit information is posted in the reporting tool.
To track qualified enrollments, reports are updated daily in your account at www.linkshare.com for the previous day’s activity.
