Budget Billing

Surprises are great—except when it comes to bills. Our Budget Billing feature evens out the highs and lows of your electric bill, giving you flat-rate billing—one flat amount to pay each month.

Here’s how it works. Most people use more energy during hot summer months, and their bills are higher during those months. With Budget Billing, you pay the same amount each month all year—instead of having one or two higher-usage bills during the hot months, it’s spread out into smaller, more affordable payment blocks every month. That way, you always know what your bill will be, and it’s easier to manage your household budget.

With Budget Billing, just like with regular billing, you only pay for the actual electricity you use. The amount of your monthly bill is based on the total electricity you used during the previous 12 months at your current rate*, divided evenly into 12 monthly payments. At the end of the 12 months, we’ll adjust your bill to cover any difference between what you used and what you paid during the year while on Budget Billing. We’ll then recalculate a new monthly amount for you to pay for the next 12 months. With Budget Billing you get the convenience of a consistent monthly bill and still only pay for the electricity you use.

Adding the Budget Billing feature to your existing plan is easy.
