Words To Read By
“This grant has been a Godsend,” said Nina Corley
of Satori Elementary School in Galveston. “The original project has
lent itself to become expanded … So many more uses for the equipment
purchased have been found than I ever imagined possible. After the
devastation of Hurricane Ike, many of the materials once available to my
classroom were no longer there, the make up of the students changed
drastically and the incorporation of the iPods into the classroom has
allowed me to modify the teaching so that all the students have been
able to learn and excel at their own level.”
The students agreed, noting they enjoyed the
audio books and videos. “I like the iPods because they let us watch movies
and also help us when we are reading books so that we can go at a
faster speed when reading,” said Ben Thompson.
