At First Choice Power, time really is money. When our employees and retirees volunteer some time to their favorite organization, we’ll toss in some dough in their name.
Our First Choice Power Volunteer Grants program turns the volunteer hours of employees and retirees into cash. Through First Choice Power Volunteer Grants, a company employee or retiree can request a contribution of as much as $500 a year on behalf of a Texas nonprofit with which he or she volunteers. Employees can contribute a minimum of 12 hours of service for a $100 donation, 25 hours for a $200 donation, or serve on a board of directors and volunteer a minimum of 25 hours to request a $500 donation.
What’s more, each year during National Volunteer Week in April, our parent company, PNMR Resources, announces our Volunteer Excellence Awards. Employees are nominated by the organizations for which they volunteer. Every organization that submits a nomination receives $100, and if the employee wins an award, the organization receives an additional $1,000.
