How To Read Your Electric Bill
1. CONTACT INFORMATION:
Here are a few ways to get in touch with us.
2. ACCOUNT NUMBER:
The unique number assigned to your account.
3. CUSTOMER REFERRAL ID:
This is your unique tracking number for our Turn On a Friend referral program. For each friend who signs up for First Choice Power using your Referral ID, you'll get a $5 bill credit each month for up to 36 months, plus the chance to win other great prizes.
4. TOTAL TO PAY AND DUE DATE:
How much you owe, and the date by which your payment needs to arrive at First Choice Power in order to avoid a late charge.
5. MONTHLY MESSAGE:
Tips, promotions and other good stuff that you might want to know about.
6. CARE TO SHARE:
This customer-funded bill payment assistance program helps pay electric bills for qualifying residential customers experiencing temporary hardship. You can make a donation to this fund each month by checking the box on the remittance form and including the amount with your payment. It's tax deductible, too.
7. PAYMENT RETURN ADDRESS:
Mail your payment here. This address shows through the little plastic window on that envelope we send you.
8. SERVICE ADDRESS:
You know this one – it's the address of the home, business or location where you're receiving electricity.
9. ELECTRIC SERVICE IDENTIFIER (ESI-ID):
Each home or place that receives electricity is given its own unique ESI-ID number.
10. SERVICE PERIOD:
The dates that this bill covers.
11. STATEMENT DETAILS:
Information about the charges, fees, taxes, etc. that make up your bill.
12. USAGE GRAPH:
The graph compares how much electricity you used this month (measured in kilowatt hours) to how much you've used in the past months.
13. CONTRACT EXPIRATION DATE:
If you're on a fixed-rate plan, this is the date when your term is over. Be sure to renew before this date to lock in the lowest possible rates.
14. kWh USED:
How much electricity (measured in kilowatt hours) that you used during the current billing period.
15. OUTAGE INFORMATION:
The phone number of your poles and wires company, so you can call them if your power goes out.
