Golfing to Benefit Local Businesses

Each year, the Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament is the biggest fund-raiser for the Whitewright Chamber  Commerce. This was the 11th year for the event, held at the Legacy Ridge Country Club in Bonham, and the ninth year First Choice Power has sponsored a team. This year, only 10 teams competed, but together we raised more than $5,000 to help the chamber.

“Everyone had fun and helped the chamber,” said Cathy Pierce, chamber secretary. “Thank you for your support. It was great having First Choice Power represented at the event.”

This year’s First Choice Power team included Butch Morgan, who you might know as Justice of the Peace in Grayson County and also a retired First Choice Power employee. We ended the game with a score of 67 – not low enough to beat Red River Title, who got first place, or even Texas-New Mexico Power, who ended the game in third.

“The weather was beautiful,” Cathy added. “Everyone kept asking who ordered such perfect weather, so I decided to take credit for it. I did let the other women know they could take credit for next year’s weather.”
