Livestock and Trade
Fort Stockton’s Pecos County Coliseum was full of bahs, moos and yee-haws this January as 4-Hers and adults alike converged for the Pecos County Livestock Show. As a sponsor of the event, First Choice Power was there to support the kids and hand out koozies to attendees.
More than 50 animals were shown at the livestock show, including lambs, goats and steers. Congratulations to Carli Howell, who won Supreme Champion Lamb. After the show was the live auction, followed by a community dance. The two-day event also featured a horse show, pet show, and plant entomology contest.
Glenda Bonham swept the adult division of the baking contest, winning Grand Champion and 1st place for her Chocolate Strawberry Indulgence Cake, as well as Grand Champion and 1st place for her Fresh Peach Pie. She also took 1st place in the Breads division for her Zucchini-Cranberry Muffins, 2nd place for her German Brown Bread, and 2nd place in the Cookies division for her Easy Party Squares. Stacy Jamison swept the student division, winning Grand Champion and 1st place for her New Orleans King Cake and Reserve Champion and 1st place for her New Orleans Beignets. Congratulations, and laissez les bon temps rouler, Stacy!
