Pitching In to Help
Glen Hagenbach was the big winner of this year’s Good Pitch competition. The contest was put on by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by First Choice Power.
The 23 participants had two minutes each to present their most compelling elevator pitches to a team of experts. Speakers were judged on structure, organization, originality, body language and voice. Ten finalists were chosen to present their ideas at the Business Expo 2011. Glen went home with a $500 prize for his compelling pitch for the United Way of South Texas. The United Way of South Texas was actually the beneficiary of the participants’’ $15 entry fees, receiving a total donation of $345.
First Choice Power’s own Andrhea Rivera took third place for her pitch for … wait for it … First Choice Power. Congratulations to everyone who was brave enough to stand up and pitch! You all did a great job. Andrhea donated her $200 prize to the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley, a Food First partner.
