Cutting Ribbons, Making Friends

First Choice Power employees in our Lewisville local office welcomed ambassadors from the neighboring Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce on the morning of Tuesday, March 22 for a very special ribbon cutting event. As a Silver Sponsor of the chamber, First Choice Power sees the partnership as another great way we can serve the local community.

The event got started with a welcome from First Choice Power area manager Lake Scalise, who introduced the local office team and Michael Swart, vice president of First Choice Power. Michael and Lake both talked about how the local office is a hub for the community — not just a place where customers can get information on products and pay their bills, but a place for the community to gather for organization meetings or to simply catch up with one another.

Michael introduced Kathy Beahm, executive director of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce, and she welcomed First Choice Power to the community and thanked us for our support of local businesses. After the official ribbon cutting, all of the ambassadors stood in a circle with Lake and offered him their business cards as a symbol of the relationship between the chamber and First Choice Power. Everyone was invited to stay for coffee, breakfast and a tour of the office by our very own Shanta Cooper.

One of the highlights of the tour was all of the green improvements to the office, including the light shelves, which have an innovative mechanism that channels natural light from outside the building into and throughout the office. They not only look cool, but they also help the office conserve energy.
