Pedal to the Metal

Fourteen members of the First Choice Power Cycling Team spent their weekend riding in the DFW MS 150 from Frisco to Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, and then from Texas Motor Speedway to downtown Fort Worth on Sunday, May 2 and 3. The ride was hard, but the team was inspired to keep going by the great cause as well as by other employees and families who supported them along the way with snacks and cheers.

Our team captains, Michael Swart and Javier Garcia-Zapata, were old pros—they’ve each been on this ride before, and both recently rode from Houston to Austin for that MS 150. “Javier and I cycled 167 miles from Houston to Austin three weeks ago, and we did 164 miles on Saturday and Sunday,” Michael said. “I still wonder why they call it the MS150 when the mileage consistently seems higher?”

“It’s all worth it for us, though,” Javier added. “The great cause is worth the pain!”

Our team reached its fundraising goal, raising more than $3,000 to fight multiple sclerosis.
