The Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization that helps local businesses prosper in our community. We have around 600 members representing all different kinds of businesses, and we do what we can to create networking opportunities and help them promote themselves.
We’ve been with First Choice Power since the start. I feel like our rates are very comparable to others. We were with Texas New Mexico Power, and we never changed after deregulation. We have a lot of people who try to get our business, but as long as First Choice Power is such a sponsor of the things we do, we couldn’t think about changing.
First Choice Power is committed to us; we’re partners. I really feel the You First attitude, largely in the way First Choice Power is so involved in our community. For example, they sponsored our golf tournament a few weeks ago, and we all wore First Choice Power shirts. And they’re a big sponsor of the Brazoria County Fair—that’s a big one for the whole community. They do try to do as much as they can for community.
We love our Business Development Manager. Maggie is so easy to talk to. If I call and leave her a voicemail, I never worry I won’t get a call back. She’s very responsive, and always makes me feel like I’m an important customer. This year, she’s even part of our Leadership Angleton class here at the Chamber.
We were excited to get a Reduce Your Use Grant from First Choice Power. Our office is in an old building; it’s real quaint, but it needs constant attention. With the grant, we proposed to do weather-stripping around all the doors. We will also be able to have an electrician come in—we have tall ceilings, so we want to install ceiling fans to push heat down in winter and up in summer.
