The Bosque County courthouse represents our rural community. It’s the base of where all business in the county is done; people vote here, they walk across the street to pay taxes, they serve on juries, they record deeds and get their birth and death certificates.
Our building was built in 1886, and a few years ago, we finally finished extensive renovations that restored the original clock tower and added modern conveniences. Now we have safe electrical wiring that’s up to code, air conditioning, high-speed data lines and an elevator. We couldn’t serve our community without electricity, and that’s why we depend on First Choice Power to provide us with power that’s supported by dependable, personalized customer service.
We’ve been with First Choice Power from the start. It’s the people that make it better. We all live here. We could have gone to big cities and made more money, but the type of folks out here care about quality of life. We’re all in the same boat; we want to make a living and raise our kids in a smaller, slower environment.
If First Choice Power can take care of us in any way, they do. Todd Clift, our Business Development Manager, calls all the time to let us know about our rate choices and make recommendations. There’s a trust there. He’s doing a good thing for the city, and that means something to me.
I hear spiels from other electric companies all the time, and I say, “Y’all live in Houston? No way you can provide the same service and do what First Choice Power does for our community.” They buy briskets from our fundraiser. They help with our fireworks display on the Fourth of July, and provide grants to help make businesses more energy efficient. First Choice Power takes care of us, because we’re all invested in the same place. This is our home, and we’re not going anywhere.
