In the market for a replacement washer, dryer, fridge, AC water heater or heat pump? Starting tomorrow the state is offering a rebate for replacing your old appliances with new energy-efficiency models.
Beginning April 7, at 7 a.m. CT, you can visit the online reservation system at www.TexasPowerfulSmart.orgor call (877) 780-3039 to reserve rebates, or get on the wait list in case more funds become available. (The site is fun by Susan Comb, the state comptroller of public accounts.)
The purchase period start date for all appliances remains April 16. There are appliance recycling, application and other rules.

The Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program is paid for with the $23 million in federal stimulus funds from the U.S. Department of Energy.
