First Choice Power has made energy-efficiency the cornerstone of its community relations program, too.
This fall, First Choice Power will award grants to nonprofits in Texas so they can purchase energy-efficiency products and services. That helps them with the initial purchase and will yield energy savings now and in the future.
The grants are each $1,000.
For $1,000, a nonprofit can purchase a new, Energy Star refrigerator, upgrade their AC, add insulation to keep the cool AC air in, change all their light bulbs to CFLs, add weather-stripping around doors and windows…the ideas are endless. And the savings can be, too.
