Our 2010 Reduce Your UseTM Grant deliveries concluded this week with our final one at Lewisville’s PediPlace. PediPlace plans to purchase a new energy-efficient refrigerator with its grant. We are very excited and honored to help them with their purchase, as well as all of the non-profits who received Reduce Your UseTM grants from First Choice Power.
We have distributed $52,000 in Reduce Your UseTM Grants throughout the past few months with stops in cities all over the State of Texas, from Copperas Cove to Waco to our home-base city of Lewisville.
The Reduce Your UseTM Grant season may be over, but there’s no stopping us giving out grants in the future, we are now accepting submissions for the Classroom Energy Innovation GrantsTM ! Encourage your favorite teacher to apply for a Classroom Energy Innovation Grant worth as much as $2,000. These grants provide resources to Texas teachers with innovative and creative ideas about energy and energy efficiency. We will be accepting online applications until October 15. Visit www.FirstChoicePower.com/innovation to learn more and apply.
Stay tuned for 2011 Reduce Your UseTM Grant opportunities beginning next February!
I am a big proponent of this type of financial incentive. The problem that we suffer from is making it in everyone’s financial interest (clearly so) to use power more efficiently. The one drawback is the limited scope of this type of program. As an educator, I think you’re going to be happily surprised about the quality of ideas coming from our youth!
Sandra,
Thanks for your post.
We are proud to offer such a great program for nonprofits and teachers.
We agree that there is an opportunity to grow the program.
If you’re a Texas teacher, we hope you’ll apply!
Thanks again for visiting the blog!
Best,
Catherine
