West Shore Civic Association received a 2009 Reduce Your Use Grant from First Choice Power to purchase a new heating and cooling system.
West Shore Civic Association helps improve neighborhoods in Laguna, Texas, and hosts family events in the community center. Spending money on a new heater and air conditioner, while necessary, would take funds away from its mission.
That’s why First Choice Power focuses its community involvement funds on Reduce Your UseTM Grants to help nonprofits purchase energy-efficient products and services. These grants help with the up-front costs of making improvements as well as providing ongoing savings on their electricity bills.
West Shore Civic Association received a 2009 Reduce Your Use Grant and replaced its 20-year-old heating and cooling equipment with an energy-efficient system.
“We are enjoying the energy savings during the summer and winter,” said Lenny McCain, board member of West Shore Civic Association. “Meanwhile, there is the peace of mind knowing that the entire heating and cooling system is new and dependable. Thanks to First Choice Power, the West Shore Civic Association now has quieter, more efficient heating and cooling equipment that will last for years to come.”
And West Shore will see savings on its electric bill that it can focus on the community events that are part of the organizations mission.
It’s a win-win. Saving funds for the appliances and on the bill.
Applications for Reduce Your Use Grants are being accepted now until April 15. Tell your favorite nonprofit to apply.
