The Irving Chamber of Commerce recognized dozens of companies yesterday as Irving “Newsmakers.”
The Irving Economic Development Partnership extended congratulations to First Choice Power for its successful campaign and partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation that yielded more than 3,000 new trees planted in areas that were destroyed by wild fires.
Mayor Herbert Gears and the Chamber’s Economic Development Advisory Council Chair Don Moulton (in photo) recognized First Choice Power for its contribution to the City of Irving.
First Choice Power planted a tree with the Arbor Day Foundation for every customer who signed up for Paperless Billing in the fall of 2009, said Catherine Carlton (in photo).
“This promotion had a double effect – our customers helped save trees by saving paper and then we planted a tree in their honor,” she said.
