Energy efficiency means that our customers will use less of our product.
Ironic? Yes.
Right thing to do? Yes.
That’s part of the reasoning behind our Reduce Your Use Grants.
Nonprofits, especially in this economy, have extra tight budgets. Fund-raising is tough, and the need in the community is greater.
According to the United Way in Dallas, the community’s needs for nonprofit assistance increased 40 percent in 2009.
For nonprofits, like many small businesses, lighting and heating/cooling are the biggest energy users.
We all know that new AC unit or new lighting will save energy — and thus money — over time. But the upfront costs don’t make it into the budget year after a year. How do you choose pricey light bulbs over helping another family?
That’s where the Reduce Your Use Grants come in. We provide funding for our nonprofit partners and chambers of commerce to make those upfront payments on energy-efficient products and services.
It’s the grant that keeps on giving.
Once our nonprofit partners purchase the new materials, they will see savings on their electricity bill. And then have even more money to help their clients.
So tell your favorite nonprofit to apply. It’s a short online application. It’s $2,000 to help with energy-efficiency. And it will save them money over time.
Know a nonprofit that could use some energy-efficiency help? Post a comment, let us know who your favorite nonprofit is and we’ll contact them to invite them to apply.
