Learn About Energy-Efficiency, Win a Trip to Walt Disney World®

Many of us overlook the simple things we can do around the house to be more energy efficient. That’s why First Choice Power is hosting a contest in which the whole family can learn and test their knowledge of energy efficiency by competing against other families. Much like a spelling bee, the Energy Bee is a contest, in Spanish, which poses questions to families and they respond before a panel of judges.

The winning family wins an all-expense paid trip for four to Walt Disney World® and a new energy-efficient laundry pair from Conn’s. This is an entertaining way to learn and work together as a family. Register before Sept. 24!

Also this fall, one of our newest programs, Our Smart Neighborhood, brings a combination of education and entertainment – what we call ‘edutainment’ – to the Hispanic community in Dallas and Houston. We created a fun puppet show (performed by Kathy Burks Theatre of Puppetry Arts) that teaches children about energy efficiency as they follow the story of Angelica, who is trying to find ways to help her parents save money so she can get a puppy. If you’re in Dallas on Sept. 19, stop by Lake Cliff Park to watch the puppet show on a large screen, and enjoy games, food and music.
