First Choice Power to Compete in the Death Race
CLIFTON, TEXAS – First Choice Power executives decided to take their athleticism to the next level and are gearing up for the 2011 Spartan Death Race competition in Vermont.
And they are doing some of their training in Clifton. And for local charity.
The four employees, Jeff Schiefelbein, Chris Smith, Brian Mente and Dan Crosby will be training at Clifton High School and with their trainer, Todd Clift, also a First Choice Power employee. Tuesday they will spend the morning at the field doing Clifton HS drills including carrying tractor tires.
As part of First Choice Power’s Food FirstTM campaign, the Clifton Food Bank has be selected to receive a $500 donation in honor of this challenge.
“This challenge shows how our company backs our employees and our communities,” said Clift, business development manager for Clifton and surrounding counties. “We put together these drills that my son, Talon, does with Coach Brown and his team. And I was thrilled to volunteer to nominate one of my favorite charities Clifton Food Bank as the beneficiary.”
Food First is a program dedicated to fighting hunger in Texas. First Choice Power partners with food banks all over the state and uses competitions like Clash of the Cans to raise awareness and money and collect canned food for those in need.
“Giving back is an important part of our death race challenge,” said Schiefelbein, vice president of sales for First Choice Power. “Our team motto has been: We bust ours to feed yours.”
Smith is the director of indirect sales for First Choice Power; Mente is a market analyst and Crosby is a broker for commercial sales.
The team will compete this summer in the so-called 24-hour “death race” in Pittsfield, Vt.
