First Choice Power Earns Award for New Bill Design
(IRVING, TEXAS)– First Choice Power received a national ClearMark Award honoring the best or most clear language use at a national awards ceremony for its newly designed electricity bill.
“We were thrilled to award First Choice Power one of our first national ClearMark Awards,” said Dr. Annetta Cheek, chair, board of directors of the Center for Plain Language. “They were a strong contender out of a very competitive field of 160 submissions.”
The award, sponsored by the Center for Plain Language, was presented at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
“The new bill saves customers time since we made it extremely easy to read and understand,” said Brian Hayduk, president of First Choice Power. “We listened to our customers and are putting more clarity around what they want to know about their energy usage.”
First Choice Power received the award in the revised document in the private sector category: “for making a complicated electric bill graphically and textually more user friendly …The improved use of color, large account number, and use of bold type, helps make the bill simpler and clearer.”
