Electricity Provider Shows Ongoing Commitment to Small-Town Texas Community
IRVING, TEXAS – First Choice Power is continuing its commitment to Lewisville, a community in North Texas where the company has a storefront office, by signing a three-year sponsorship agreement with the City of Lewisville. The sponsorship will fund a new performing arts center, the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater, and the Western Days festival, a celebration of the history of Lewisville, featuring activities and live music.
“I am proud to work in this community every day,” said Lake Scalise, area manager, First Choice Power. “Lewisville’s vibrant community makes it a great place to do business, and we are thrilled to give back to the people we serve.”
Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater (MCL Grand) opened to the public in January. The 40,000-square-foot facility is the only publicly operated arts center in Southern Denton County and features two theaters, a recital hall, an art gallery, five classrooms and a courtyard. First Choice Power has signed on as the naming sponsor for the ticket window and concession stand in the center of the facility.
Western Days is a street festival held each September in historic Old Town Lewisville. Believed to have started in 1964, the event draws about 20,000 people each year and expanded in 2010 to a two-day event. Highlights include two stages of live music, children’s activities, Western heritage events and the World Tamale Eating Championship. First Choice Power will be the official food court sponsor at the festival.
“We are very thankful for the relationship between the City of Lewisville and First Choice Power,” said Donna Barron, assistant city manager, City of Lewisville. “They continuously show support for our city with their active involvement, and we look forward to furthering that commitment with this long-term partnership.”
First Choice Power is the only retail electricity provider with storefront offices. The office in Lewisville opened in July 2010 and provides a place for current and potential business and residential customers to interact face-to-face with customer service representatives who are there to help with bill payment, discuss energy plan options and suggest helpful energy-efficient tips. The company also opened a local office in Texas City in October, 2010 and has plans to open a third location in Mission this spring.
In addition to the three-year sponsorship agreement with Lewsiville, First Choice Power has partnered with Lewisville’s Christian Community Action for the Food FirstTM program, First Choice Power’s commitment to provide 1 million meals to those in need across Texas, and its local bill payment assistance program helping low-income Lewisville residents with their utility bill. First Choice Power also provides funds to Lewisville nonprofits and schools through its Reduce Your Use GrantTM program, which provides as much as $2,000 for energy-efficient upgrades.
